Michelle was born blind in her right eye and began losing her vision in her left eye when she was 16 due to a brain condition. “By the time I was 18, my world was black,” says Michelle.
As you can imagine, losing her sight was a difficult adjustment for the outgoing teenager, especially when it came to her studies. "My biggest challenge as a student was being on a level playing field with my sighted peers," Michelle admits.
